I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Diversity and International Students Chair of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly at Cornell University. My unwavering commitment to fostering diversity, combined with my extensive leadership experience and community engagement, uniquely positions me to advocate for all students effectively. As the former Mayor of Wardag Province in Afghanistan, I shattered gender barriers in a traditionally male-dominated society by championing women's leadership and community empowerment. My role as General Director of Peghla Radio and my involvement with the self founded non-profit organization APAW have equipped me with the skills to amplify marginalized voices and facilitate meaningful dialogue among diverse groups.
At Cornell, my vision is to enhance support systems for international students, ensuring their concerns are not only heard but addressed. I aspire to create a campus environment that not only celebrates diversity but also makes every student feel valued and engaged. Together, we can cultivate a community where all students thrive both academically and socially. I humbly seek your vote for this vital position, as we work together to shape a brighter, more inclusive future for our university. Thank you for your support!
