SA R3 (2026-2027): Introducing a Mechanism for Ensured Engagement and Outreach by Members of the Student Assembly
Whereas, Student Assembly members are required to perform outreach and engagement with constituents as elected representatives of the general student body,
Whereas, Student Assembly members have hitherto skirted these duties, resulting in a detachment of the Assembly from the wider Cornell undergraduate community,
SA R2 (2026-2027): Clarifying Practical Training Options for International Students
Whereas, international students at Cornell rely on practical training opportunities, including internships and research experiences, to apply their academic training, develop professional skills, and pursue career opportunities in the United States,
Whereas, Curricular Practical Training (CPT) has historically served as an important mechanism through which F-1 students at Cornell may obtain authorization for off-campus internships and employment directly related to their academic programs,
SA R1 (2026-2027): Adopting the Standing Rules of the 2026-2027 Term of the Student Assembly
Whereas, the Standing Rules of the Student Assembly must be adopted at the beginning of each term of the Student Assembly.
Whereas, proper Standing Rules are necessary for the functioning of the Assembly,
Be it therefore resolved, that the attached Standing Rules be adopted as the Standing Rules for the 2026-2027 Term of the Student Assembly, with immediate effect.
