    University Assembly Campus Welfare Committee Minutes – Monday September 29th, 2025

    Began at 1:31pm

    Attendance: Jason Chobirko, Danialle Hill, Hayden Spector, Susanne Bruyer, Marcy Benda, Andre Kessler

    Absent: Lawrence Han, Nikole Lewis, Gladys Brangman, Alysia Ericsson

    Order of Business:

    1) Introductions

    2) Discussions of passions and goals for the upcoming year

        a. Hayden discussed their interest in improving the community at Cornell and how individuals could better empathize with their fellow Cornellians

        b. Marcy discussed issues with parking as well as the austerity measures and how the Cornell community will navigate the upcoming year with these fiscal pressures in mind

        c. Danialle discussed food security and making sure that Cornellians across campus had access to food

        d. Andre discussed the concerns and general fear the administration has placed on international students and even faculty about their belonging here at Cornell

        e. Susanne talked about the loss of an NSF grant due to its diversity component and working to address working opportunities for individuals with disabilities

    3) Future directions

        a. Get together a monthly meeting schedule

        b. Break up into working groups to push forward the improvement of well-being at Cornell in distinct aspects, such as:

            i. Improving community and encouraging belonging

            ii. Addressing food security

            iii. Improving parking

            iv. Addressing constituents impacted by Cornell's uncertain fiscal future

    4) Adjournment
