    University Assembly Campus Welfare Committee Minutes – Thursday October 2nd, 2025

    Attendance: Jason Chobirko, Devin Freeman, Alysia Ericsson, Eeshaan Chaudhuri

    Absent: Lawrence Han, Nikole Lewis, Gladys Brangman, Alysia Ericsson, Danialle Hill, Hayden Spector, Susanne Bruyer, Marcy Benda, Andre Kessler


    Order of Business:

      1)Introductions

      2)Discussions of passions and goals for the upcoming year

         a.Alysia discussed the importance of community and the general exhaustion of work/life balance with Zoom meetings in conjunction with needing to travel in the AgriTech campus in Geneva. Additional points reflected the minimal access staff had for benefits such as athletic facilities compared to faculty

        b.Devin discussed his background in politics and how that relates to the disconnect in societal inequality on campus and abroad

        c.Eeshaan mentioned the impact of the stop-work order brought on by the Trump administration impacting his own work and the work of other undergraduate students. He is particularly interested in cross-assembly coordination on issues such as parking and ticketing

      3)Future directions

         a.Get together a monthly meeting schedule (mid-late October / early November)

         b.Break up into working groups to push forward the improvement of well-being at Cornell in distinct aspects, such as:

            i.Improving community and encouraging belonging

            ii.Addressing food security 

            iii.Improving parking (more likely to be dealt with by other committees, tbd)

            iv.Addressing constituents impacted by Cornell’s uncertain fiscal future
