The Student Assembly has several sources of funding.

Byline Funding

The Cornell University Board of Trustees charges the Student Assembly and Graduate and Professional Student Assembly with proposing student activity fees for their respective student bodies on a bi-yearly basis. The assemblies are also responsible for proposing how the fees will be distributed among their constituent student organizations on campus. The proposals must be approved by the University President and Board of Trustees.

Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund (SAIF)

Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund Commission (SAIFC) is a committee of the Student Assembly with delegated authority to allocate the funds generated by the SAIF. The purpose of the SAIF is to financially support projects and/or initiatives that improve infrastructure or facilities on campus that contribute to the undergraduate experience of Cornell students.

Other Funding Sources

The Students Helping Students Fund & Summer Experience Grants 

This program was established by the Cornell University Student Assembly in conjunction with the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment for the purpose of assisting undergraduate students in financial need. Managed by the Student Assembly's Financial Aid Review Committee (FARC).

Special Funding

General funding for any project, program or service through Student Assembly Special Projects that it deems to improve the quality of undergraduate student life or to further the goals of the Student Assembly. Special Projects funding may be requested by any of the following, but not limited to:

• any Cornell registered student organization;
• Student Assembly committee chairs that seek funding for expenditures that exceed their committee's budgeted allocation.
• These funding requests are managed by the Student Assembly Executive Committee and the Student Assembly Appropriations Committee.
