Student Assembly
The Student Assembly has several sources of funding.
Byline Funding
The Cornell University Board of Trustees charges the Student Assembly and Graduate and Professional Student Assembly with proposing student activity fees for their respective student bodies on a bi-yearly basis. The assemblies are also responsible for proposing how the fees will be distributed among their constituent student organizations on campus. The proposals must be approved by the University President and Board of Trustees.
Student Activities Funding Commission (SAFC) Funding
A portion of the undergraduate student activity fee is allocated to student organizations by the Student Activities Funding Commission (SAFC). SAFC is responsible for allocating a portion of the undergraduate student activity fee, which is a component of each student's Tuition and Fees collected by the Office of the Bursar, and is tasked with allocating over $1.5 million to various student organizations at Cornell. Each year, over 500 registered student organizations benefit from the receipt of SAFC funds.
Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund (SAIF)
Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund Commission (SAIFC) is a committee of the Student Assembly with delegated authority to allocate the funds generated by the SAIF. The purpose of the SAIF is to financially support projects and/or initiatives that improve infrastructure or facilities on campus that contribute to the undergraduate experience of Cornell students.
Other Funding Sources
