University Assembly Members,

I hope you are doing well.

This email is to notify you that we are now holding an email vote for UA Resolution #5: "In Support of Making Cornell A Sanctuary Campus," sponsored by Ranking Member Rina Winarto. This is an unusual method for holding a vote, but one allowed by Robert's Rules and one to which the Assembly agreed at our last meeting given the strict urgency of the matter.

SA R23 (2016-2017): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Rawlings,

I would like to convey the Student Assembly’s 23rd resolution of the year to you. This resolution calls for Cornell Administration to declare Cornell University a “Sanctuary Campus.” As a sanctuary campus, Cornell would declare its intent to not cooperate with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement efforts to locate members of the Cornell community and commit to guaranteeing funding for DACA students.

Resolution 23 is Declaring Cornell University a Sanctuary Campus.

SA R26 (2016-2017): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Rawlings,

I would like to convey the Student Assembly’s 26th resolution of the year to you. This resolution requests that the Board of Trustees encourage the administration to have extensive and detailed community discussion on the Provost’s capital plan in the coming months, before a final vote by the Board of Trustees is taken.

Resolution 26 is Request for the Board of Trustees to encourage student and community involvement in further deliberation on the Provost’s capital plan.

Dear President Rawlings,

It is my pleasure to convey to you Resolution 7: In Support of Making Cornell a Sanctuary Campus.

I'm sure that by now you've seen the petition since it is my understanding that it has already been delivered to your office. This resolution was intended to be more timely, but I admit that due to technical difficulties on my end, you are only seeing it now.

In summary, this resolution is the GPSA's endorsement of the petition and is as close as we can get to signing it as a body. That is also how this resolution was presented.

Dear President Rawlings,

I would like to convey the Student Assembly’s 22nd resolution of the year to you.This resolution proposes changes to the Collegiate Readership Program guidelines in Appendix B of the Student Assembly Charter.
