The Appropriations Committee shall concern itself with all aspects of the Graduate and Professional Student (GPS) Activity Fee, including review of the GPSA Byline Allocation Procedures, the GPSA Eligibility Criteria and Obligations for Byline Funded Organizations, the GPSAFC Funding Guidelines, and the GPSA Internal Budget. The Committee shall be chaired by the Vice President of Finance.

The Graduate and Professional Student Programming Board (GPSPB) organizes events for graduate and professional students sponsored by the GPSA. The Board shall have a chairperson, elected by the GPSA.

The Communications Committee is charged with maintaining a strong communication link between the GPSA and all graduate fields, professional schools, and the Cornell community. The Vice President for Communications shall serve as the chairperson of the Communications Committee.

The Operations and Staffing Committee is charged with appointing graduate and professional students to committees staffed by the GPSA, and with maintaining and updating the GPSA Charter, GPSA Bylaws, and relevant documents. The President and Counsel to the GPSA shall serve as ex-officio members. The graduate and professional student University Assembly representatives shall be considered voting members for all appointments to University Assembly committees. The chairperson for the Operations and Staffing Committee is the Vice President for Operations.

The primary purpose of the Faculty Advising, Teaching, and Mentorship Award Committee (“FATMAC”) is to solicit nominations for and administer one or more annual Awards to recognize faculty who exhibit excellence in the teaching, advising, and mentorship of graduate and professional students. FATMAC shall have a chairperson, elected by the GPSA.

The Executive Committee shall be composed of the officers of the GPSA, including the chair of each standing committee. The Executive Vice President is the chair of the Executive Committee.

By delegation from the University Assembly, the Campus Codes Committee will review any proposed motion related to:

• The Student Code of Conduct; and
• Solicitation of applications from interested faculty, students and staff for service on the University Hearing and Review Boards as specified in section “II C” of the Cornell Student Code of Conduct Procedures; and
• Issues involving academic freedom and freedom of speech for all members of the Cornell University community, including faculty, students, and staff on the Ithaca campus and those located outside the United States.

The Committee may propose, review, and amend resolutions as it deems appropriate. The Committee must approve resolutions referred for its consideration before they can be advanced to the Assembly for a vote and for debate.

By delegation from the Assembly, the Committee will review any proposed motion related to:

• diversity and inclusion;
• family support;
• health services; and,
• any other topic deemed relevant to campus welfare by the Executive Board.

The Committee may propose, review, and amend resolutions as it deems appropriate. The Committee must approve resolutions referred for its consideration before they can be advanced to the Assembly for a vote and for debate.

Reviews and approves proposed motions related to: environmental impact and sustainability; information technology; transportation and commuter policies; and, any other topic deemed relevant to campus infrastructure by the University Assembly Executive Board.

The Transportation Hearing and Appeals Board (THAB) shall review decisions that have been denied in whole or in part by Transportation and Mail Services administrative staff on matters relating to violation appeals, requests for special parking grants for those claiming financial hardship, and exceptions to parking rules and regulations and/or normal permit eligibility criteria.
