Dear Nicholas,
Thank you for conveying Resolution 15: Recommendation for Revisions to the GPSAFC Guideline. I am returning this resolution to the GPSA for further discussion.
The proposed changes to Section III(a)(1) require modifications before they can be accepted. As set forth in the GPSA charter, Student Activity fees can only be provided to student organizations. If a student organization wishes to engage in a collaboration with an external organization, the student activity fees allocated to the student organization cannot be disbursed to or used to defray the costs of the external organization in participating in the collaboration or event. This is true regardless of the nature of the external organization.
I encourage you to work with Dean Lewis and Dean Love to develop language reflecting this important limitation on the use of student activity fees.
Sincerely,
Michael Kotlikoff
