Student Assembly - Resolution 37 (2025-2026)

Maximum Printing Cap

  • Term:
    2025-2026
  • Assembly:
  • Status: Adopted by the Assembly
  • Abstract: Highlighting that some courses require students to print material that far exceeds students’ printing allocation. Courses should have a percentage cap on the amount of the printing allocation they can use.

Whereas, there is a rise in courses where teachers require students to pay to print materials,

Whereas, printing requirements for these classes can easily exceed the allocated $15,

Whereas, professors have a higher printing budget than students do,

Whereas, students should be able to rely on CAMP and their printing allocation to fund materials for their classes,

Be it therefore resolved, each class a student is enrolled in can only utilize 20% of their printing allocation (60 pages single sided),

Be it further resolved, professors should otherwise provide materials online or through CAMP,

Be it further resolved, professors should provide printed materials in technology-free courses through CAMP as printed course booklets or other printed materials,

Be it finally resolved, that organizations such as the Knight Center should work with students and professors to enforce this policy.
