Whereas, Assembly members are not currently hosting consistent outreach events, and only Freshman Representatives and Arts & Sciences Representatives hosted an outreach event during the Fall semester,
Whereas, there is general skepticism or unfamiliarity regarding the activities of the Assembly,
Whereas, the role of Assembly members is to be informed on the concerns of their constituencies,
Whereas, tabling and other outreach activities create great opportunities to gather student’s concerns and increase the Assembly’s activities’ visibility,
Be it therefore resolved, that Article IV, Section 10(C) be struck and replaced with:
C. All voting representatives shall host at least one forum or outreach activity per month in person and online with individuals from their respective constituencies and report all outcomes to the Assembly at the next regularly-scheduled meeting following such an activity
Be it further resolved, that each forum or outreach activity should be communicated to the Assembly and the Assembly member’s constituency at least several days in advance through some form of mass communication, such as Instagram or email,
Be it further resolved, that all Assembly members shall report back their findings from each forum or outreach activity during the next regularly scheduled meeting.
Be it finally resolved, that all Assembly members will work once per semester on an assembly wide outreach event.
