SA R52 (2014-2015): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Skorton,

I would like to convey Resolution 52: Resolution for SAFC Discretion in Eligibility Appeals to you. This resolution was sponsored by Marc Masson (ILR Representative), Connor Rossner (Appropriations Committee Member), and Marissa Guiang (SAFC Co-Chair).

EA R8 (2014-2015): Conveyed to the President

President Skorton –

Resolution 8 is a formal resolution asking for a staff engagement study and survey to be sponsored by the Office of Human Resources and Safety Services and executed by the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) every five years. It also calls for the engagement of the Employee Assembly in the planning of each survey. Furthermore it calls for the creation of an oversight committee to be formed to review survey results and make recommendations.

Respectfully submitted,
Greg

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for sharing Resolution 36, Divestment from Coal: Toward a Sustainable Endowment, with me. As the Student Assembly does not have legislative authority over this area, I am interpreting this as a sense of the body resolution.

SA R36 (2014-2015): Accepted by the President

Dear Richard:

I have received Graduate and Professional Student Assembly resolution 6, addressing Support for Advanced Graduate Students. Your attention to this topic is timely as we have launched several initiatives to address this specific concern. Cornell is an active leader in the national dialog on impact of extended degree times in certain disciplines, the challenges of funding long PhD programs, and the difficult job market that some graduates encounter.

SA R45 (2014-2015): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for sharing Resolution 45: Regarding the Proposed Final Exam Schedule with me. I understand that University Registrar Cassie Dembosky was in support of the recommendation of reducing the number of back-to-back exams, and will be working with Dean Burns to finalize a decision on guiding principles.

SA R43 (2014-2015): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Sarah,

I always am pleased to see the Student Assembly’s ongoing support for diversity and inclusion in the student body and on campus. Thank you for sharing your latest recommendations, communicated via Resolution 43: Addressing Cissexism.
