Cornell University

SA R16 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Juliana,

Thank you for submitting SA Resolution 16, “Addressing Labor Issues in Qatar.” I continue to appreciate the ongoing commitment of many in our campus community to this global issue. It is important that we work toward a common understanding of how Cornell can effect meaningful change through its presence in Qatar.

UA R1 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Matthew,

Thank you for notifying me of UA Resolution 1 – “Bylaws Change Establishing a Student Health Fee Advisory Committee Liaison.”

I commend the assembly’s ongoing work with the administration, colleagues at Gannett Health Services, and Craig McAllister in the Office of Risk Management to address community concerns related to Cornell’s Student Health Plan.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Garrett

UA R2 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Matthew,

Thank you for submitting UA Resolution 2 – “Charter Change Aligning the University Assembly’s Role in a Judicial Administrator Search Process with Practice.”

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the discrepancy between the UA charter and the Campus Code regarding how many UA members are to be appointed to a Judicial Administrator search committee. I support your resolution – as submitted – to update the UA's charter to better reflect the current Judicial Administrator search process.

SA R14 (2015-2016): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 14: Collecting LGBTQ+ Demographic Data to you. This resolution was sponsored by Philip Titcomb.

The goal of the resolution is to analyze the retention of LGBTQ+ students at Cornell University. The intention is to add a question to the Common Application on gender identity and add questions to the Cornell supplement on sexual orientation and receiving resources from the LGBT Resource Center.

Thank you for the time and consideration.

Kind regards,
Juliana
