Abstract: This resolution approves the recommendation for the 2026-2028 Student Activity Fee. The overall recommendation is a compilation of approved Finance Committee recommendations.

Abstract: This resolution condemns Cornell’s settlement with the Trump Administration as a compromise of Cornell’s values.

Abstract: “We Demand a Fossil-Free Degree”. Cornell’s association with the fossil fuel industry is inconsistent with its role as a “global leader in sustainability”.

SA R17 (2025-2026): Reinstating the A&S Peer Mentoring Program

Whereas, the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college at Cornell University, with over 4,600 undergraduate students currently enrolled, and overall enrollment has been increasing in recent years;

Whereas, the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Department is dedicated to supporting “the academic, personal, and professional growth of all undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences”;

SA R18 (2025-2026): Approving Budget for Finals Week Airport Shuttle

Whereas, students have historically had low access to transit to the Syracuse and Ithaca airports.

Whereas, the transit that is available, such as Uber, is often expensive or not available at times when students need to get to the airport.

Whereas, the previous shuttle initiatives have demonstrated high interest from the student population and received positive feedback.

SA R12 (2025-2026): Approving Special Projects Funding Request for the Finance Club at Cornell

Whereas, the Finance Club at Cornell has an annual allocation of $4000 from the Student Activities Funding Commission (SAFC), 

Whereas, the Cornell Finance Club seeks to familiarize members with the financial landscape of New York City,

Whereas, students benefitting from this experience make invaluable connections with top financial firms and gain essential experience in student pitch competitions with opportunities to be placed in summer programs or receive job interview offers,

SA R8 (2025-2026): Approving Transfer of Funds to the Executive Board

Whereas, the 2025-2026 Operating Budget apportions $3000 to the Executive Board subaccount,

Whereas, expenses for the Fall 2024 SUNY Student Assembly conference totaled $1854.96, but did not charge to the Student Assembly account until July 2025,

Whereas, expenses for the Spring 2025 SUNY Student Assembly conference totaled $2670.17, but did not charge to the Student Assembly account until September 2025,

SA R4 (2025-2026): Approving Special Projects Funding Request for Black Students United

Whereas, Black Students United (BSU) is a registered student organization that offers community and opportunity to students on campus,

Whereas, the BSU requires additional financial assistance to attend the Congressional Black Caucus Retreat,

Be it therefore resolved, the Student Assembly approves the $4500 disbursement from the Student Assembly Special Projects Funding Account into the account of Black Students United.

SA R57 (2024-2025): Commending Alhassan Bangura ‘25 for his Service to the Student Assembly

Whereas, Alhassan Bangura helped found the Student Assembly Office of Ethics in the 2021-2022 term and was an inaugural member of the Office;

Whereas, Alhassan served as Director of the Office of Ethics for the 2023-2024 term, providing invaluable support to the Assembly and adjudicating complex Assembly crises including presidential succession, governing document conflicts, and officer misconduct allegations;
