Whereas, the Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund Commission has received four complete applications for the 2026 Spring semester prior to April 19th 2026,
Whereas, the $50,000 proposed allocation to the Cornell University Architects Office, to be distributed to a different department for the completion of the project at their discretion, will fund the addition of up to five lights at the bottom of Libe Slope on the east side of West Avenue to increase visibility of students to passing vehicles,
Whereas, the $5,000 proposed allocation to Black AAP will fund a community-designed renovation, including a mural, in the Ujamaa Residential College that better represents the history of the college and serves the organizations and students that utilize the space,
Whereas, the $1,000 proposed allocation to CURewild will fund the rewilding of a grass lawn on Stewart Avenue to create a space that is more sustainable,
Whereas, the proposed allocation for the rewilding project is conditional upon CURewlid getting approval from the University Grounds Department prior to beginning work on the project. If approval by the Grounds Department is not received by the SAIFC by December 1, 2026, these funds will be returned to SAIFC,
Whereas, the $8,045.84 proposed allocation to Facilities and Campus Services will fund the addition of automatic doors to Schoellkopf Memorial Hall, to increase accessibility for injured athletes to physical therapy and athletic training areas,
Whereas, the proposed allocation for the Schoellkopf Memorial Hall doors is under the condition that Facilities and Campus Services or an associated department commits to funding any remaining costs of installation, of at least one door in the facility, by December 1, 2026. If SAIFC and the Office of Assemblies is not notified of this commitment by this date, these funds will return to the SAIFC,
Be it therefore resolved, a total of $64,045.84 be transferred from the Infrastructure Fund Disbursement Account to the corresponding university accounts outlined above,
Be it further resolved, the applicants of these projects shall submit a follow-up report to the SAIFC no later than 6 months following the transfer of the funds on how the funding has been used, the updated timeline and estimated completion date of the project, and the most recent communications or point of contact within the university. The report shall be provided to the SAIFC Chair or the President of the Student Assembly and the Office of the Assemblies if the office is vacant,
Be it finally resolved, allocations of this resolution shall take effect upon approval of the Dean of Students.
