EA R8 (2019-2020): Accepted by the President

Dear Adam,   Thank you for submitting EA R8: In Recognition of Cornell Health Employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic.    I share your admiration of the staff of Cornell Health for their outstanding work and commitment to the health and well-being of our students and the entire campus community, especially throughout this pandemic.

GPSA R15 (2019-2020): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Andy,   Thank you for sending me GPSA Resolution 15: Requesting That First-Year Writing Seminar Instructors Be Allowed to Hold Virtual Discussions in Whatever Way They Deem Appropriate.  As you may know, the president’s office does not dictate academic program content or establish instructional methods. I’m sharing your resolution with the leadership of both the John S.

EA R3 (2019-2020): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Adam,   Thank you for submitting EA R3: Support of the development and implementation of a Cornell Campus Circulator System.    We support the concept of a circulator, which is very much in line with our vision for campus transportation needs. We expect, however, that a circulator would be part of the TCAT system, as Cornell has invested, and will continue to invest, in TCAT as our provider of campus transit.

SA R6 (2019-2020): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Joe,   I appreciate this resolution and your concern with the indigenous people of Hawai’i.   Cornell is not a partner in the TMT project.  The resolution notes that we are a member of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), an organization of 47 U.S.

SA R54 (2019-2020): Other Communication

M. Adeghe said she is still in communications with the women’s volleyball team in regard to Resolution 54, who are currently in the process of removing themselves from the tournament, and that they might still need some money for things that they might not get refunds for.

GPSA R14 (2019-2020): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Andy,   Thank you for conveying to me GPSA Resolution 14: In Support of the University Allowing International Graduate Students to TA Remotely During the Summer 2020 Session and the Fall 2020 Semester. I’m pleased that the university has recently identified and shared guidelines that allow international students who left the U.S.

GPSA R13 (2019-2020): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Andy,    Thank you for conveying to me GPSA Resolution 13: Additional Donation from the GPSA to the Access Fund to Support Graduate and Professional Students in Need Related to COVID-19 Pandemic. I continue to be immensely grateful for the support that has been directed to the Access Fund by the GPSA. These resources have helped so many students navigate the acute challenges of this spring.    Sincerely, Martha Pollack   Martha E.

UA R8 (2019-2020): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Pollack:   I am pleased to convey to you resolution R8 passed yesterday by the University Assembly with strong support and only a couple of dissenting votes.  By this resolution, we are encouraging the University Counsel to combine aspects of both the recommendations of the current Codes and Judicial Committee draft and the Office of the Student Advocate draft as the next step towards finalizing a new Code of Conduct.
