GPSA R4 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President
Dear Richard, Thank you for sharing GPSA Resolution 4: Endorsement of the Best Practices for Faculty Advisers Document. I commend the GPSA for taking this initiative and thinking critically about the nature of mentoring relationships between advisers and graduate students. The Best Practices document has already been widely distributed through the Dean of Faculty’s office and is stimulating useful conversations across campus.
GPSA R4 (2015-2016): Conveyed to the President
Acting President Kotlikoff, I would like to convey to you GPSA R4: Endorsement of the Best Practices for Faculty Advisers Document, as well as the Best Practices document itself. This resolution endorses these best practices as being the opinion of the student body on what constitutes a good faculty adviser. Prepared along with students from a wide range of disciplines in addition to administrators and other stake holders, I hope that it will guide young faculty as they develop in addition to more established faculty who may need to reevaluate their advising program.
GPSA R8 (2015-2016): Conveyed to the President
Dear Acting President Kotlikoff, I would like to convey GPSA Resolution 8: Resolution Concerning 2014 Tax Issues for International Students. This resolution summarizes the tax crisis facing international students as far as it is understood by the graduate and professional student community. While we fully acknowledge that this is a nationwide issue, we still believe Cornell should do all it can to ensure a quick resolution to this issue.
