Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 31: Approving the Spring 2016 Elections Rules to you. This resolution was sponsored by our Director of Elections Matthew Henderson. The resolution seeks to update the elections rules of the Student Assembly and directly elected undergraduate seats on the University Assembly.

I would like to convey Resolution 28: Improving Research Matching for Students and Professors to you. This resolution is sponsored by Student Assembly representatives Gabriel Kaufman and Ben Bacharach and Adam Bronfin as a member of the Academic Policy Committee.

Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 27: Ending Bottled Water Sales on Cornell Campus to you. This resolution was sponsored by Emma Johnston (Executive Vice President), Emily Dong (Environmental Committee Chair), and student organization including the Cornell Environmental Collective [ECO], Take Back the Tap, KyotoNOW!, and the Society for Natural Resource Conservation.

Dear President Garrett,

It is my duty to convey to you U.A. Resolution 3 "Adoption of an Inclusive Restroom, Locker Room, and Gender-Specific Facility Usage Policy."

This resolution was sponsored by our Ranking Employee Member Ulysses Smith on behalf of the Assembly's Campus Welfare Committee and Brian Patchcoski (Associate Dean of Students & Director LGBT Resource Center). It was passed by the full Assembly at our meeting of December 1, 2015.

SA R26 (2015-2016): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 26: Promoting Justice and Friendship in the Housing Lottery to you. This resolution is sponsored by Gabriel Kaufman, Erinn Liu, Dustin Liu, and Justin Selig from the Student Assembly and Christian Welling and Patricia Mawn-Malhau from the Residential Student Congress. The resolution suggests a two-part lottery system to guarantee that students can live with their friends, reduce politicking, and give more time to freshmen to select blocking units.

SA R24 (2015-2016): Conveyed to the President

Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 24: Cost Barriers to Study Abroad to you. This resolution was sponsored by Philip Titcomb and Jordan Berger. This resolution recommends that Cornell University take necessary strides to reduce cost
barriers for studying abroad. The resolution commends Administration for continuing to charge students the cost of their non-Cornell international program in lieu of charging for traditional Cornell tuition and fees for their semester abroad.

SA R14 (2015-2016): Deferred by the President

Dear Juliana,

Thank you for sharing SA Resolution 14: Collecting LGBTQ+ Demographic Data. I appreciate the Student Assembly’s efforts to enhance outreach from the LGBT Resource Center with the goal of improving the undergraduate experience for students who identify as LGBTQ+. I firmly support efforts to enable students to self-identify their preferred gender.
