Whereas, the well-being of the campus community is a foundational priority, and traumatic events have significantly impacted students, faculty, and staff.

Whereas, the Cornell Student Assembly has passed Resolution 17, which calls for community restorative days in response to incidents such as campus community deaths or reported sexual assaults.

Whereas, Cornell does not have a single grading system. In many cases, Professors are allowed to determine their own grading systems, sometimes guided by college-wide or department-wide guidelines.

Whereas, the New York State Education Department has certain requirements for course syllabi to ensure that the necessary information about the course is communicated to the students. 

Whereas, the Student Activities Funding Commission has requested to change their governing documents;

Whereas, amendments to the governing documents of byline-funded organizations must be approved by the Student Assembly;
