Graduate and Professional Student Assembly

Officers and voting representatives of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly are elected in the spring semester. Each professional school is responsible for selecting its own voting member. Each graduate field and professional school is responsible for electing or appointing its own field representative(s), who serve on the assembly as non-voting members. The graduate and professional Student-Elected Trustee is elected in the fall of even years for a two-year term.

  • Vice President of Finance
  • Student Advocacy Committee Chair
  • Programming Board Chair
  • Faculty Advising, Teaching, and Mentorship Committee (FATMAC) Chair
  • Diversity and International Students Committee (DISC) Chair
  • Voting Members:
    • Arts and Humanities Representative (3 seats)
    • Biological Sciences Representative (3 seats)
    • Masters-at-Large Representative
    • Masters of Engineering Representative
    • Masters of Industrial and Labor Relations Representative
    • Masters of Public Administration Representative
    • Physical Sciences Representative
    • Social Sciences Representative

Information for Candidates

Graduate and Professional students interested in running in the Spring 2026 GPSA Election must submit a registration form.

  • Registration period: April 6-April 13, 2026
  • Petitioning period: April 14-April 19, 2026
  • Voting period: April 22-April 27, 2026
  • Earliest results will be announced: April 27, 2026.

 

Petitioning information:

  • Instructions to create petitions and sign petitions.
  • Candidates will be able to create petitions beginning on April 14, 2026.
  • Candidates for President and Executive Vice President need to gather 50 signatures from registered graduate and professional students
  • Candidates for Committee Chairs need to gather 25 signatures from registered graduate and professional students
  • Candidates for voting member positions do not need to create petitions.
