GPSA R7 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Richard:

Thank you for conveying to me GPSA Resolution 7 regarding supervisor-student relationships. Your efforts complement extensive discussions by Cornell’s Faculty Senate over the past year on this topic. Professor Michael Fontaine, acting dean of the University Faculty, has referred GPSA Resolution 7 to the Faculty Senate’s Committee on Academic Freedom and Professional Status (AFPS), which is chaired by Professor Elizabeth Adkins-Regan. I anticipate that the committee will consider and respond thoughtfully to the points you have raised.

UA R11 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Gabe,

Thank you for submitting UA Resolution 11 – “Recognition of Outstanding Support to the AY 2016 Legislative Session.”

It is my pleasure to support the resolution to formally extend thanks and gratitude to the members of the Cornell community named in Resolution 11 for their support of the University Assembly. I also support your request to forward the Resolution of Recognition to the appropriate deans, vice presidents and vice provosts so that those listed can be appropriately acknowledged.

UA R8 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Members of the University Assembly,

Thank you very much for U.A. Resolution 8, honoring President Garrett and conveying your condolences. I greatly appreciate your offer of support in this time of grief, as we continue to uphold the standards of excellence that meant so much to her.

Sincerely,

Michael I. Kotlikoff
Acting President

UA R7 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

UA R6 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Matthew,

Thank you for conveying the University Assembly’s Resolution 6, “Requesting Specific Information on Labor Practices at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar.” I appreciate your interest in closely examining this topic of great importance to the university administration as well as members of your constituencies.

UA R4 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Gabe,

Thank you for submitting UA Resolution 4 – the recommendation from the Textbook Price Working Group (TPWG). I appreciate the efforts of the TPWG to find ways to reduce the financial burden of graduate and undergraduate students at Cornell.

I support the TPWG’s recommendation that the Cornell Store adopt a cost-recovery financial model for the sale of academic materials. As noted, the current revenue-generating model will be maintained for non-academic materials sold at the store.

SA R61 (2015-2016): Acknowledged by the President

Dear Jordan,

Thank you for sharing Resolution 61 with me. I appreciate the Student Assembly voicing these concerns, and by copy of this e-mail am sharing your recommendation with Dean Kleinman and Professors Cruvellier and Williamson for consideration.

Sincerely,

Hunter Rawlings
