Thank you for submitting EA Resolution 3: In Recognition and Appreciation of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
I join you in celebrating her over 60 years of service to the public good, to fairness, and equity. We are truly fortunate to count Justice Ginsberg among our alumni.
The university is currently considering actions to commemorate her on the campus and we hope to announce those plans soon.
As to your request to fly our flags at half mast, we follow directives we receive from the state and, when they occur, from the federal government. You may know that we received such directives and lowered our flags after Justice Ginsberg’s death on September 18, 2020 and they remained lowered until her internment at Arlington on September 29, 2020.
Thank you again for your thoughtful and moving resolution.
