I am happy to convey EA Resolution 6: Postponing Spring 2020 elections and Extending Expiring Seats.
EAR6 postpones the Employee Assembly 2020 spring elections until the fall of 2020 and extends the terms of the current EA membership and executive committee leadership until elections can be held. This resolution is in response to the expected impracticality of hosting competitive elections this spring due to the COVID-19 health crisis and resulting impacts on university operations.
The resolution also creates an ad-hoc committee that will study the makeup, terms, and representation of all EA seats. The committee will present findings and make recommended changes at the conclusion of their work. I would like to commend Elections Committee Chair Jessica Withers, member Jamie Duong, and the entire EA elections committee for their hard work on this important resolution.
