Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 15: Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act to you.

This resolution is sponsored by Jordan Berger (Parliamentarian), Phillip Titcomb (LGBTQ+ Representative), Matt Indimine (Chair of Student Assembly Health and Wellness Committee), Teresa Danso-Danquah (President Emeritus Cornell Union for Disability Awareness), and Jonathan Goldstein (President of Cornell Union for Disability Awareness).

The resolution celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and asks the Cornell administration and students to work together to become a more accessible and inclusive campus. We recognize that some of our recommendations go beyond the mandates of the Americans with Disabilities Act; however, we believe that it is important for Cornell to go beyond compliance.

At this time, the Student Assembly has only provided recommendations for the accessibility of student organizations. We hope that in the future campus will become more accessible and additional accessible spaces will be made available to students to make our recommendations more feasible.

Thank you for the time and consideration.

Kind regards,
Juliana
