Dear Juliana,<br /> <br />Thank you for sharing Resolution 24: Cost Barriers to Study Abroad.<br /> <br />I appreciate the Student Assembly’s efforts to make studying abroad more accessible to students, and am supportive of reducing all barriers possible to allow for more students to participate in this experience. However, due to the cost limitations of the program, I do not believe it is realistic for the Cornell International Program Tuition to be reduced at this time.<br /> <br />Having said that, I understand that the Cornell Abroad budget models are currently under review, and that a recommendation will soon be made to Provost Kotlikoff. I will share this resolution with him for his consideration as he reviews the Cornell Abroad budget.<br /> <br />Additionally, I have forwarded this resolution to Michael Fontaine, who is serving as Interim Dean of the Faculty, and ask that he pass on to the Faculty Senate.<br /> <br />Sincerely,<br /><br />Elizabeth Garrett
