Dear President Garrett,

I would like to convey Resolution 31: Approving the Spring 2016 Elections Rules to you. This resolution was sponsored by our Director of Elections Matthew Henderson. The resolution seeks to update the elections rules of the Student Assembly and directly elected undergraduate seats on the University Assembly.

Some changes to the document include increased discretionary spending for candidates (line 153) and more leniency with Facebook promotion (line 214). The election rules newly define professional services as "any work for which the given individual/donor is typically compensated. Volunteer time donated by full-time students will not be considered professional services." The new rules document also allows for the other candidates in the election to endorse a President and Executive Vice President candidates. However, President and EVP candidates cannot endorse one another or run on tickets.

Thank you for the time and consideration.

Kind regards,
Juliana
