Dear Patrick,

Thank you to Valeria and the SA for conveying to me Student Assembly Resolution #46: Promoting Civic Engagement. I appreciate the SA’s dedication to this important issue.

Over the past academic year, Cornell Votes leadership and Joel Malina, Vice President for University Relations, worked together to identify ways to provide students with voter registration and election information. In May, the university and Cornell Votes launched the resource webpage vote.cornell.edu, which includes information such as ways to register and request absentee ballots, deadlines, and polling locations, and also directs the Cornell community to Cornell Votes for additional assistance.

This information will be promoted via numerous university websites and student-facing platforms, through student community and resource centers, and in key university communications, including the Vice President for Student and Campus Life’s pre-semester message; the Vice President for University Relations’ start of semester voter registration message, followed by a “reminder to vote” message; new student orientation materials; and undergraduate and graduate student newsletters. The Office of the Vice President for University Relations and Cornell Votes will continue to work together to identify additional opportunities to share this important resource with our community.

My thanks again to the SA for their dedication to civic engagement.

Sincerely,

Martha E. Pollack
